Vals Pancakes

About the Recipe

I always keep a box of this mix around.

Ingredients

Mix (dry ingredients)

¾ c white flour

½ c whole wheat flour

½ t salt

1 ½ t baking powder

1 t baking soda

2 T sugar


2 eggs

1 cup buttermilk or milk

4 tablespoons melted butter

Preparation

Mix dry and wet ingredients separately, then mix to just combine. 

Heat a pan or griddle over medium heat; lightly oil pan then drop pancakes by ~1/4 cup. Cook until bubbles form about 2 minutes then flip. Continue to cook until just browned on the other side.

Serve with fresh berries or cinnamon apples and a touch of maple syrup.


To make your own pancake mix, combine all the dry ingredients multiply to fit your container.

For every cup of flour (white and whole wheat combined) need:

1/2 tsp salt

1 1/4 tsp baking powder

1 tsp baking soda

1 1/2 T sugar


Then use ~ 1 1/5 cups of mix with the 2 eggs, 1 cup milk, and 4 tablespoons melted butter.
